The Asian Cadet and Junior Judo Championships 2023 recently concluded in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The event, held from November 16 to 19, showcased the talent and skill of young judo athletes from across Asia.
A total of 15 nations participated in the championships, with 181 competitors, including 78 women and 103 men, competing in various weight categories.
Uzbekistan, the host nation, performed admirably, securing several podium finishes. However, athletes from other countries also showcased their skills, making it a competitive tournament.
In the Cadet division (athletes aged 15 to 17), the gold medalists in the men's category were as follows:
-50 kg: Nurbol Askar (Kazakhstan)
-55 kg: Loiq Kudbudinov (Tajikistan)
-60 kg: Yosin Bobokalonov (Tajikistan)
-66 kg: Mukhamedali Zakirov (Kazakhstan)
-73 kg: Muhiddin Asadulloev (Tajikistan)
-81 kg: Gleb Azarov (Kazakhstan)
-90 kg: Hakimjon Makhkamov (Uzbekistan)
+90 kg: Elnur Kholmuminov (Uzbekistan)
In the women's category, the gold medalists were as follows:
-40 kg: Umida Kuldosheva (Uzbekistan)
-44 kg: Laziza Haydarova (Uzbekistan)
-48 kg: Zarina Jamalova (Uzbekistan)
-52 kg: Raykhona Mamatova (Uzbekistan)
-57 kg: Zhanar Zholdosheva (Kazakhstan)
-63 kg: Nigina Saparboeva (Uzbekistan)
-70 kg: Dulamsuren Ailtguibaatar (Mongolia)
+70 kg: Hyeonji Lee (Korea)
In the Junior division (athletes aged 18 to 20), so far the gold medalists in the men's category were as follows:
-60 kg: Talgat Orynbassar (Kazakhstan)
-66 kg: Zhanarys Rakhmetkali (Kazakhstan)
-73 kg: Adilet Almat (Kazakhstan)
In the women's category, the gold medalists were as follows:
-48 kg: Nurailym Sarsenbek (Kazakhstan)
-52 kg: Gulkhayo Juraeva (Uzbekistan)
-57 kg: Farangiz Redjepova (Uzbekistan)
