GAWSF's Member Asia-Pacific Wushu Kickboxing Association Signs Strategic Cooperation Agreement with Shandong Vocational University of Foreign Affairs Institute

On the morning of December 31, 2023, a significant event took place as the Asia-Pacific Wushu Kickboxing Association, a sub-association of the GAWSF, signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Shandong Vocational University of Foreign Affairs Institute. The signing ceremony was held in Room 907 of the Wanyuan Building on the university campus. Hu Chunquan, Vice Chairman of the Chinese Wushu Association, Yan Zhiguo, Chairman of the Asia-Pacific Wushu Kickboxing Association and Chairman of the GAWSF Asia-Pacific Martial Arts Committee, along with representatives from various professional committees of the Asia-Pacific Wushu Kickboxing Association, and Li Hengqiang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President of Shandong Vocational University of Foreign Affairs Institute, attended the ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Wang Fengyong, Dean of the Martial Arts College at Shandong Vocational University of Foreign Affairs Institute.

Li Hengqiang, on behalf of Shandong Vocational University of Foreign Affairs Institute, warmly welcomed Hu Chunquan and Yan Zhiguo, recognising the cultural significance of Wushu as a cherished heritage of the Chinese nation. Shandong Vocational University of Foreign Affairs Institute has consistently placed great importance on Wushu education, aiming to cultivate talented individuals with an international perspective and an innovative spirit. Through this strategic cooperation with the Asia-Pacific Wushu Kickboxing Association, the university aims to enhance its teaching and research capabilities in the field of Wushu, strengthen its ties with the GAWSF, and foster resource sharing, mutual benefits, and joint efforts to promote the development of China's sports industry.

Hu Chunquan introduced the Chinese Wushu Association and highlighted the future development prospects of Wushu. Emphasising that Wushu is not just a sport, but a cultural heritage and a spiritual pursuit for the Chinese people, he expressed hope for further collaboration between the two parties to promote the widespread popularity and development of Wushu, providing people in China and around the world with a healthy and enjoyable sports activity. 

Yan Zhiguo, Chairman of the Asia-Pacific Wushu Kickboxing Association and the Asia-Pacific Martial Arts Committee of the GAWSF provided insights into the development of the GAWSF and the establishment process and growth direction of the Asia-Pacific Martial Arts Committee.

Wang Fengyong, Dean of the Martial Arts College at Shandong Vocational University of Foreign Affairs Institute, and Yan Zhiguo, Chairman of the Asia-Pacific Wushu Kickboxing Association, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations. Both parties aim to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in talent cultivation, teaching and research, and event organisation.

Following the ceremony, Hu Chunquan and his delegation visited various departments and facilities at Shandong Vocational University of Foreign Affairs Institute, expressing appreciation for the university's infrastructure development.
