World Sports University Enters MOU with Yong In University

Yong In University, a distinguished comprehensive university in Korea endorsed by the Ministry of Education of Korea and accredited by the Ministry of Education of China, has joined hands with World Sports University, an educational institution under the GAWSF (General Association of World Sports Federations). The collaboration aims to foster academic and educational cooperation based on equality, reciprocity, and the promotion of sustainable partnerships and mutual understanding.

Yong In University, located in the capital area of Gyeonggi-do, Korea, was established in 1953. Renowned for its focus on art and sports, the university has been a trailblazer, achieving numerous notable milestones within Korea and globally. It has produced numerous world-class champions, distinguished directors, and notable alumni who have achieved international acclaim. The university has attracted attention from world leaders, such as Russian President Vladimir Putin and former US President Bill Clinton, who visited and were honoured with honorary doctorates. Currently, the university hosts nearly 700 foreign students from various parts of the world.

 

 

In accordance with the recently signed MOU, both World Sports University and Yong In University will collaborate in organising and participating in a range of activities, including online and offline seminars, symposia, short-term academic programs, and academic meetings. This partnership aims to facilitate knowledge exchange and academic growth between the two institutions.

On November 9, 2023, a virtual MOU signing ceremony was held to commemorate the collaboration. Representing World Sports University was Professor CHE Kuong Hon, while Professor KIM Jung-heon represented Yong In University. The respective representatives signed the MOU, and they also engaged in discussions and shared plans for future cooperation.

Looking ahead, both institutions plan to facilitate a series of exchange visits between their leaders in the upcoming year. Additionally, they will collaborate with Qilu University of Technology and the Shandong Academy of Sciences to organise an international summit forum in Jinan, China, further enhancing their cooperative efforts.
